TV Guide reports that Jorja Fox has signed a deal to return for the show’s ninth season premiere this fall. One would presume that Sara’s return to mourn ex-colleague Warrick, who was shot and presumably killed in the season finale. CSI exec Carol Mendelsohn said that Gary Dourdan (who plays Warrick) would also return this fall — and “not just in flashbacks.” Perhaps not dead… yet. | | Source: Link |
--- | | | Date: 06/02/08 | Username: kahvitz | Spoiler: It's no day at the beach. According to CSI Files sources, the second episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's ninth season will be called "The Happy Place". The episode opens with Sprig Greniger in her apartment at night. She's making a roast, but she's munching on a carrot at the same time. She's thin and pretty and seems to be in a happy mood as she hums, the news playing on the television in the background. Sprig roasts the meat in the oven and then starts to eat her own dinner: a crappy, microwave diet meal. Her cell phone rings and she moves to answer it. A short time later, Sprig goes into her bedroom and gets undressed, reaching for a new bikini on a hanger and ripping off the price tags. She puts it on and admires herself in front of the mirror--clearly, she sees flaws that other people wouldn't see. Sprig walks out of the bedroom, a dreamy look on her face as she drags a beach towel behind her. She wanders past the television as a weatherman tells viewers the next day will be in the triple digits. Opening the door, Sprig steps out onto the balcony and looks at the city lights sparkling against the dark backdrop of the night sky. Meanwhile, on the street below, a city bus is chugging along. A young man finally gives in to the glares he's getting from a group of women. He stands up and offers his seat to the oldest woman, who takes it and smiles. The young man is feeling pretty good about himself, but suddenly there's a loud crash. The bus is jarred and the young man loses his balance. The ceiling of the bus bows and windows shatter as something lands on the roof with tremendous force. Outside the bus, it becomes obvious what landed on the roof. Sprig is sprawled on the metal in her bikini, dead but beautiful. Nick and Catherine work the case. They need to figure out why a bubbly young woman who was about to get married would take a swan dive. Their case gets more interesting when they find out that Sprig was fired from her job at a bank for stealing $10,000. They also learn that she was undergoing hypnosis to lose weight in order to look her best in her wedding dress. Meanwhile, Grissom and Brass look into the brutal death of Diana Bonfilio. Her head was bashed against the pavement in an alley, and her eyes were gouged in. The case gets more frantic when they find out she had her two-year-old daughter with her when she died. Sara is still in town, and she goes to visit an old friend, Thomas Adler. Thomas first appeared in "Too Tough to Die" during the show's first season. His wife Pam was raped, beaten and shot, but she survived. She's been in a vegetative state for all these years, and Thomas finally pulled the plug. He tells Sara he prayed every week for God to end his wife's suffering. Meanwhile, the entire team must deal with their grief over Warrick's loss. Nick even imagines that he sees his old friend on the street, but it's merely a stranger. --- | | | Date: 06/09/08 | Username: AnaRita69 | | Spoiler: It's a different kind of tableau. According to CSI Files sources, "Art Imitates Life" opens on a Las Vegas sunrise. We're in a park that's more lush and green than would be expected in the desert. The park is in the middle of an affluent neighborhood. A track circles a small reservoir, and a group of cyclists are training. They fly around the track, making laps at high speed. Joggers are on the track as well, staying close to the inside to avoid being run over by the cyclists. There's also a woman with a stroller. Nearby, another woman is leaning against a light pole with her back facing the track, her cell phone pressed to her ear. One young jogger is listening to his iPod and doesn't realize he's veering into the cyclists' path. The lead cyclist blows a whistle, and the jogger lurches out of the way before they hit him. He stops for a rest and notices something in the bushes: a man's feet. One foot has a shoe but the other only has a sock. The jogger is nervous about looking closer--this guy looks dead, and he isn't sure he wants to see that. He leans closer and looks down at the body on the ground. The jogger is startled when the person sits up. He's not dead after all. The homeless man staggers to his feet and runs away, heading toward the oncoming traffic of people on the track. He's high, he's got a hangover, and he's just feeling like crap. As he runs forward, he sees the woman pushing the stroller and, as he passes by, he grabs her purse. The woman screams, and the jogger takes off after the homeless man. He yells for the man to stop, but he's not giving up the purse that easily. The cyclists have to part to move around the two men so they can avoid a collision. Just when the jogger is gaining on the homeless man, he twists his ankle and hits the track. The homeless man is able to get away. The jogger stands up, angry and in pain. He hobbles back to the woman whose purse was stolen and tells her to call 9-1-1. Unfortunately, her phone was in her purse. He heads over to the woman leaning against the light pole and asks her to use her cell phone to call the police. She doesn't respond, and he gets a bit frustrated. When he moves around to look at her and repeat his request, he sees that she can't help him--she's dead. The dead woman is one of three bodies that turn up in a similar situation. It's as if they're frozen in time, dead bodies mimicking living people. They question an artist named Jerzy Skaggs, a man who makes a lot of money painting pictures of models posing as dead bodies. Could the posed corpses be some new form of art for him? Meanwhile, Riley Adams (Lauren Lee Smith, originally Bryce Adams) joins the team, and a Peer Counselor named Patricia Martin comes to the lab to help Warrick's former colleagues deal with his death. Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The episode opens inside of a Gas 'N Sip store. The cashier hands an older man his change, but the man complains that it isn't correct. The cashier gave him change for a ten, and he's sure he paid with a twenty. The cashier is adamant that the man only paid with a ten. The old man, however, is making a scene. He gestures to the cop standing impatiently behind him, threatening to bring him into the situation. Meanwhile, a teenager is lurking in the back of the store. He checks on the gun under his coat and watches the scene unfold at the counter. If the cop would just leave…Outside, Nick and Riley Adams are walking on the sidewalk in their CSI vests. Nick hangs up his cell phone and tells Riley they've got a scene to process after they grab a cup of coffee. In the distance, a man with a tomahawk stuck in his back is lurching toward them--is this a victim? As Nick and Riley get closer, the man with the tomahawk is revealed to be wearing a cowboy costume. It's Halloween, and there are decorations in the window of the Gas 'N Sip.Nick and Riley pass another costumed person on the sidewalk: a woman dressed as a mermaid. The woman compliments the CSIs for their 'costumes'--that's what she dressed up as last year. Nick and Riley share a laugh. The cowboy with the fake tomahawk wound gets closer as the doors to the Gas 'N Sip suddenly burst open. The cop comes running out with a bag in his hand, gun drawn. The cashier screams from inside that he was just robbed. It seems this guy isn't a real cop at all--he's wearing a costume too.The robber knocks Nick, Riley, the cowboy and the mermaid down, and the two CSIs scramble to their feet and give chase. They pursue the man down the street and into an alley. They're cautious, moving carefully to stay covered in case the robber decides to start shooting. Nick and Riley stay safe, but the robber isn't so lucky.Meanwhile, the body of a young woman is found in a dumpster full of glass. She turns out to be the daughter of a major drug lord wanted by the FBI, the CIA and the DEA. Surveillance footage reveals that two bouncers forcibly removed her from a club, so Catherine and Riley head there to speak to the owner. Much to Catherine's surprise, she finds Lindsey on the dance floor. She got inside with a fake ID, and when Catherine goes up against the owner of the club, she's more determined than ever to prove he's done something wrong. Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. --- | | Spoiler: Major Spoiler! You know that fancy new CSI contract that William Petersen inked last May? Turns out there was a ticking time bomb buried in the fine print: He will leave in episode 10 called "Mole"! And not "off too do a play" gone like he was back in 2006. No, this season will be his last as a full-time series regular.
"Billy is leaving," confirms the show's executive producer, Carol Mendelsohn. "But he will remain throughout the run of the series an executive producer. And he will, whenever CBS asks, come back. I don't think you've seen the last of Gil Grissom."
Neither does Petersen. In fact, in an exclusive interview conducted on July 11, the eight-year CSI vet seemed almost reluctant to characterize his departure as, um, a departure. Citing both his ongoing role as an executive producer and his intention to return on occasion as a (very special) guest star, he said, "I'm in a great place in terms of knowing that I'll be more free to make choices. And I'm responsible enough to not do it in a way that would hurt [the show].
"I want it to work for the writers, I want it to work for the cast, and, most importantly, I want it to work for the audience," he added. "I don't want them to abandon the show."
CBS has to be concerned about that, too. Although no one expects ratings to nosedive when Petersen leaves, the network's top-rated show is staring down its biggest challenge ever. His sorta swan song, coupled with Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan's exits last season, brings to three the number of original cast members CSI will have lost in a year's time.
"This will be a year of transition for the show," concedes Mendehlson. "We always knew it was coming, and I'm glad it didn't come until now." At this point, she's confident that, like Law & Order and ER, CSI is a franchise that can weather such cast shifts. "There's never going to be another William Petersen, and there will never be another Jorja Fox," she hastens to add. "But we are not out to just replace those actors. We're out to add new characters to the show, and the show will change as a result. But that's a good thing." (For more on CSI's post-Grissom plans, click here.)
In the meantime, Mendelsohn is plotting one hell of a send-off for her leading man. Just as this is a year of transition for CSI, so too is it for Grissom. The events of last season's finale -- specifically the death of Dourdan's Warrick -- will push Grissom to the breaking point. "The easiest way to describe Grissom is 'in crisis,'" Petersen told me. "As a man. As a scientist. As a teacher. As a middle-aged person who has been very successful at what he's done... [he] wonders, 'What's the point?'
"It's all of a sudden becoming more difficult for him to do his job," he continued. "What had been a sort of fun job for him to do, because he loved the solving of the riddle, has become ever more taxing and difficult."
Helping Grissom through the crisis will be his true love, Sara, played by Fox, who is returning for multiple episodes, starting with the season premiere. While Petersen confirms that Sara will figure into Grissom's final arc, he stops just short of saying the couple will ride off into the desert together at the end of episode 10. "I wouldn't want to say exactly what we're going do -- I want people to watch, certainly," he chuckled. "But Sara is involved... It's often darkest just before the dawn."
And lest anyone read any hidden meaning into that statement, the actor reiterated, "For me, it's a really good situation. I don't want the audience to think it's not... [It isn't] like there's something going on, like 'Petersen's unhappy,' 'cause it's not true. It's quite the contrary. "
That explains why he's having trouble labeling his departure a... well, you know. "My biggest problem with leaving the show at any point isn't leaving Grissom -- I'm an actor, it's time to do other things," said the stage vet, whose first post-CSI gig will be a return to the theater -- and to Connor McPherson's play, A Dublin Carol -- this fall in his hometown of Chicago. "[The hard part will be saying goodbye] to the cast and crew. [So] I'm going to stay as involved as I'm allowed to be throughout the remainder of this show. Until they turn off all the lights."
So what do you think? Is CSI losing Petersen as a full-timer a crime? Is part-time Petersen better than none at all? EW.com | | Source: Spoilers TV |

Some you all probably know.
1. Grissom leaves in episode 1o and Sara is the MAIn feature surrounding the entire storyline that sees Grissom leave.
2. There are 2 storylines that the writers have not decided on, The only one i can say is that ya could be hearing the sounds of tiny pitter pattering feet, as its a v v strong possibility that Sara either returns pregnant, or falls pregnant after she returns.
3, THE MINIATURE KILLER IS TO RETURN!!!!!!
4. Nick goes mental......... I mean literally, he keeps seeing Warricks 'ghost' (this is the reason for Gary Dourdans special guest stars appearances, when the writers say he will not appear in flash backs) | | Source: :Private source, I am not a liberty to state - sorry |
--- | | Spoiler: After years of stability in its lead cast, “CSI” has been rocked by a series of cast changes in the last year or so.
The biggest, of course, is the departure of William Petersen as lead investigator Gus Grissom after Episode 10 of the new season of the hit CBS show. He may return to the show on an occasional basis, but the actor has other projects on the horizon, including a production of “Dublin Carol” at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre this fall.
To fill out the cast, “CSI” will be adding a new character, a doctor with an intriguing backstory who’ll eventually take charge of the investigative unit. I asked executive producer Naren Shankar about what the future held for the show. First I’ll list the newsy bullet points of that conversation, with a longer explanation of the new “CSI” character following that.
* Episode 5 will feature the return of dominatrix Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke). “Grissom spends the night,” Shankar said. “I’m not saying what he’s doing there overnight. Let me tell you, it’ll be by far the most provocative Lady Heather episode we’ve ever done.” * Episode 7 will revolve around Natalie, the Miniature Killer. * For the 200th episode, director William Friedkin is coming back to direct an episode of the show. * Jorja Fox is back as Sara Sidle in the first two episodes, and she’ll be back for several episodes later in the season.
* Petersen will remain an executive producer on the show and “if [a] story line creatively needs Grissom then he’s totally willing to come back and do it,” Shankar said. To read more follow the link below; | | Source: Spoilers TV |

Got any more details on Lady Heather's return to CSI? — Christy Ausiello: Yes, but if you're of the opinion that there's only one woman for Grissom and her name rhymes with Farrah then you may want to jump ahead to the next question. According to executive producer Naren Shankar, when Melinda Clarke's dominatrix returns in November to console an in-crisis Grissom, "This will be the most intimate that we have seen them." Shankar's partner in Crime, EP Carol Mendelsohn, takes it a step further, revealing that, "Grissom will go to bed at Lady Heather's. Whether he will go to bed with Lady Heather remains to be seen. But Grissom will spend most of that episode at Lady Heather's. | | Source: link | --- | | | Date: [day/month/year] | Username: [your username] | Spoiler: 17 07 2008 When we last saw CSI, the forensic drama Warrick was shot and left for dead by Undersheriff McKeen. The shocking finale left fans shocked and distressed over the long wait they have to endure before the next season airs. While we already know that Warrick’s portrayer, Gary Dourdan, will be leaving the CBS series, we are still not quite sure how this audio-video analyst will exit the canvas. If you can’t wait for a few more months to find out, read on for spoilers.
Judging from season 8’s last scene, many viewers are likely to think that Warrick will actually die. However, CSI boss Carol Mendelsohn has hinted in the latest issue of TV Guide that Warrick will be back in the fall and “not just in flashbacks.” According to Spoiler TV, the first episode of the ninth season of CSI is called “For Warrick” and finds the team mourning for their fallen friend. Unknown to the team the killer, the Undersheriff, investigates Warrick’s murder. Meanwhile, Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann) hires a new CSI in the form of Bryce Adams (Lauren Lee Smith). “We thought that if we ever lost Warrick, this was the way he would go. Warrick’s a local guy. The only family he had was Grissom and the team, so this was not a guy who was going to leave Las Vegas or CSI. We knew where we were going with Warrick long before Gary went to the Coachella music festival, and that it would be truly classic battle-to the death. I think you will see that Undersheriff McKeen will be one of the most worthy adversaries that the team has ever gone up against because he is so smart, because he is so trained, and he can think of all the angles,” Mendelsohn told TV Guide. Sara (Jorja Fox), as reported previously, will return in this episode when she hears the news about Warrick. “The premiere is the last time you will probably see our entire cast together. Our original cast. And that means Sara Sidle as well,” she added. “For Warrick” is expected to air on September 25 on CBS. Source: CSI: Spoilers for the Season 9 Premier

Newly hired CSI castmember Laurence Fishburne and executive producers Naren Shankar and Carol Mendelsohn just joined together to spill a few details about their new partnership, and as promised, I worked in as many of your questions as I could. Click in to find out their secret code name for the character, where he comes from and who is really taking over Grissom's old job...
NEW DUDE
* Fishburne's character has no name yet, but according to the executive producers, "Our internal code name for the character is the Professor." (Ooh! Maybe the Skipper and his little buddy come, too? )They're totally soliciting suggestions for character names, so sound off in the comments below. * Fishburne is cool. (In case you couldn't guess that from the past 25 years of his career): "Do not mistake my presence for the event," he said. "The event is CSI the show. Everyone brings their unique talents to the show, and that's what I'm going to do." * According to Naren Shankar, the Professor's background is in research pathology. He's been forced out of that career, so he's become an itinerant college lecturer. He's teaching a course in criminalistics when he gets involved in an investigation—and, naturally, the ground-floor qualification for being a CSI is a background in science. * Grissom (William Petersen) and the Professor will overlap, working on a case investigation together throughout episodes nine and 10. According to the exec producers, Fishburne is schedule to start shooting on Sept. 17 or 18, and his first appearance is scheduled for Dec. 11...or early 2009, depending on how the schedule shakes out. * Said Naren: "It takes a special personality to be willing to start new—to a place where you're not in charge of everything—and start over. It's an interesting place to be," for both the writers and the actor. "And the character will feel very at home in the bowels of the coroner's office, a little more comfortable than he feels in the halls of the CSI office."
OUR GANG
* With Grissom gone, Willows (Marg Helgenberger) will be supervising the team, with assistance from "CSI3" (senior CSI) Nick Stokes (George Eads). Fishburne's character will be joining the team as a "CSI1" (baby CSI). As Carol put it, "[Willows and Stokes] are the natural people to lead the team." * Will Grissom be killed off or is he just riding off in to the sunset? Per Carol Mendelson, "We're not going to tell you how he's leaving." I'll go dollars to doughnuts on the sunset ride, but we'll see.
So what are you going to call Fishburne's character until further notice? And are you as excited as I am to see Catherine and Nick join forces to lead the team? Post in the comments!

--- | | Spoiler: Episode 9.01 For Warrick Details Major Spoiler!
The GSR is brief, but wonderful. Sara appears at the end of Act II. Grissom, who, btw, looks very hot in this episode as he goes through a range of emotions we've never seen from him before (far more than in Dead Doll) has had to strip off his shirt because it's evidence. So he puts on his dark blue CSI windbreaker. We see him from the back walking through the halls of the lab and into his office. Sara is there, leaning against his desk, looking much prettier and softer than in previous seasons. Grissom stops in his tracks. They just regard one another for a few seconds, then embrace. Sara tells him she caught the first plane out (We have to assume Grissom called her, but we aren't privy to the call). Her voice is very shaky. Grissom says nothing. They just continue to hold one another. Their facial expressions say everything. Cut to commercial. When we come back from the commercial break, Grissom and Sara are sitting in occasional chairs, facing one another, about knee-to-knee, and she's holding his hands in hers. He says, "Warrick didn't want to go." She says, "Tell me." Grissom: "God, Sara, I could feel his life..." Grissom- (con't): "I thought if I could hold him tight enough ..." Sara: "There's nowhere he would have rather been at the end. He loved you." Grissom: "Yeah. I loved him." Of course all of this is accompanied by incredible facial expression work by WP. --- | | | Date:24th August 2008 - 2pm GMT | Username: [gsrbritfan | Spoiler: Episode 9.01 details Major Spoiler! Spoiler:Major episode details 9.01 For Warrick Spoiler! Continued from spoiler above & same information source; What follows is part of the full scene leading up to the opening credits -- from the show, not from any CBS promos. (I obtained a loan) the DVD of the episode as it was distributed to TV critics by CBS.The full episode. Unless CBS pulled a fast one for some reason, an expensive and destructive thing to do, what I saw is the episode as it will air. Private sources own words. A man's voice is calling in an "officer down" alert to the cops, and we see Jeffrey McKeen walking away from Warrick's car as he makes the call.
Cut to: Grissom is standing at an outdoor newsstand, flipping through a magazine (Traveler). His car windows are open (I think this must be his personal car, not the crime lab's SUV), and he has a hand-held police radio on the passenger seat. The radio is calling for units to respond to the officer down call just received. At first, Grissom is paying only half attention. Then, as he realizes the gravity of the call and the fact that the location is near his, he walks toward his car to hear better. When the location is repeated, he glances up the street, realizing it's where he's just come from.
Cut to: the bottom of the alley with Warrick's car about 30 yards away. Grissom appears there and studies the car for a moment, then starts running full tilt toward it. When he gets there, he looks in the open passenger window and sees Warrick as we left him in May. He hauls the door open and ducks inside and studies Warrick for a second (we don't see it, but he might be checking for a pulse at the neck). He then wrestles Warrick's body out of the car and lays him on the ground, calling his name. Warrick chokes out blood on the front of Grissom's shirt, and Grissom takes off his jacket and puts it under Warrick's head. More detail to follow soon, watch this space! |

McKeen then comes back towards the car. Warrick's eyes go wide and he tries to say something to Grissom, but he has no voice (Presumably his vocal chords have been severed by the gunshot wound to his neck) When Grissom bends down to hear better and says “What” McKeen puts his hand on his sidearm, apparently ready to shoot both Grissom and Warrick, However Warrick can only choke up blood, and he starts fading. Grissom looks up at McKeen (though not as shown in the first promotional pictures to be leaked) and demands “Where are the paramedics” McKeen walks off and calls them, and we hear | | | |
